Bead & Button Prep

Okay folks, the countdown has begun!  I have a new booth number for Bead & Button, #1212.  I like that!  There are so many little details to think about along with making beads and making beads and did I mention making beads?

I designed postcards, business cards and two banners for my booth.  I ordered the banners from Vista Print.  I hope they turn out.  I ordered them early enough that I can come up with a back up plan if they don't.  That is my banner design above.  I also did a banner for the Bead Cruise. They are 3' x  2.5'.  I use Vista Print for postcards all the time, so hopefully the banners will rock.

How cute is this?  They put the image on all sorts of products and ask if you want to add them to your cart.  And why yes, yes I did.  They also had it on a coffee mug and journal and that has me thinking about opening a little zazzle or cafe press shop with some of my bead images and inspirational quotes.  I mean, I know you like Humblebeads, but I'm sure you'd rather have some nice little saying on a bag or journal rather than my business name!

Okay, you've read this far - let's have a nice giveaway today.  I will pick on random winner on Friday to win an egg bead.  All you have to do is answer this question - what Humblebeads would you like to see at my booth at Bead & Button?  It's okay if you are only dreaming about going, I'd still like to hear from you!

Now that IS a hard question to answer. I would say I like the bead sets (10 disk beads) the most.
In what colors you ask? ALL of them...there I got that in. Love the banners, I am sure they will turn out fine and I would definitely get a bag, as I am The Bag Lady from way back. I am so excited for you!

SO EXCITED!!!!
I can't wait to see your clasps. I think that they are just divine. And deserve to be front and center.
I love everything you do, but the disks and the long ones I really love. And the sculptural ones like Mr Fox.
I have a t-shirt from Vista Print with my key logo on the front. Got it for free one time.
Let me know what I can help you with, what I can bring for the booth, if you want an address (mine or my sister's - she said so) to mail anything in advance.
And...get that plane ticket!
Enjoy the day!
Erin
P.S. If I win, pick someone else to spread the joy around.

Hi Heather,

I will be a B&B this year and I'm excited to meet you in person! I like your disk beads and birds best, but I also like seeing whatever is new!

Sadly, that show is not in the works for me this year - but SOME DAY, I am going to go! Personally, I really like the pendants and toggles you've been doing with the little water color paintings on them of tree branches, nests, starfish, etc. I've already bought a few from your etsy shop and if I were going to the show, I'd be sure to buy more - especially if there were some new colors/images. What about some "forest at night" scenes with dusky blues and purples?

Yes I will be there; look forward to meeting you.

I would love to see the dandelions, poppies, dogwood and starry night cuff.

Your little blue birdies...so sweet!
I wish I could make it to the show....one day! Have fun Heather!

The new clasps and the long flat pendants you introduced along with poems (April) would be on my list.

Also, I would be hoping to see a few of your William Morris inspired pieces (that are no longer easy to find).

Doesn't work for me this year either- school goes longer into June this year. I love almost all of your beads but if I had to choose one ( or two), I would choose the sea urchins or the little birds.

Well that's easy for me to answer...one of your vignette beads...in an ocean theme. I'm obsessed with ocean-themed stuff and your beads, lol!

It is so hard to choose any one of your beads. But.... I love your branch beads and sea urchin beads best of all. You do such wonderful things with colour. Best wishes for a sucessful show and a minimally crazy prep!

I haven't read any of the other comments yet, but I am going to think about this as the shrewd business woman I am (heehee), not a person who likes beading.

I imagine you're surrounded by a huge crowd of people, you're exhausted, you have people grabbing your stuff and always asking "how much is this?" even though the price is clearly marked. You do not have time to explain new designs or your higher priced items.

You need stand by's. The tried and true; the items that can be re-created and re-stocked easily. Baskets of your beads, securely but attractively packaged, easy to keep an eye on, separated by colors and priced similarly so you do not have to think.

Your promo items have the dominant color of turquoise which is always the best seller, so I would create like a demon to have those in mass amounts.

There. My opinion. Well, you did ask. :)

Heather, thanks for sharing where to get great promotional items. I've bought business cards from them, but a banner is a great idea! Good luck preparing for your big show!! Wish I could see your booth in person, and some of the beads I'd love to see would be your pretty disk sets and your sculptural pendants, including the Dogwood Blossom. :-)

For myself, i am only dreaming of going rather than actually getting to go. However, if i did get to go, I would love to see some of your pretty pretty carved pendants, like Dandelion Wine! The softness of it is just so pretty.

I wish I were going! What would I like to see? I know "All" doesn't answer your question...so I would say the urchin beads--they are gorgeous!

I would like to see your garden beads, especially poppy and tiger lily, new flowers too - tulips, daisys, peonies? Plus your branch beads - the big lentils are just neat to look at.

Heather - I really like that tote bag - very cute idea. If only I could go to the B&B show I would want to see any of the new toggle pendants - love them and I really like the autumn wildflower pendants. Of course, I would have to fondle the rest after I had seen those!!

Yes, only dreaming about going, but I love your branch disks!

I would love to see more of your disc bead sets. They are so usable. The ones I bought from you a while back were used for my current favorite earrings. I will get a photo to you soon. I think those would be a huge hit!! Good luck at Bead/Button.

Oh, how I'd love it not to be a dream! If I could, I'd love to see your Van Gogh or any of the 'branch disks or lentils. Also your poppy focals -- or any of your beads! I've been admiring your work for quite some time now; you're so talented! I hope you do really well at the B&B show~
